In accordance with the request contained in the ́second paragraph of Your Excellency's letter No.133/3, of the

29th ultimo, I have the honour to forward a plan of the Kowloon Rifle Ranges shewing in red the Military Targets and firing platforms as hitherto used, and in yellow the extension and modifications thereof which are found necessary in order to pro-

-vide for the Musketry requirements of the greatly increased

number of men who have to use the Fange, coupled with the increased Range of the new rifle.

It will be seen that the main object of the alter-

ations is to lengthen the target butts and to divide the firing

platforms so that simultaneous firing can be carried on at

different listances by different corps.

It has been understood that no restrictions

existed as to the right of utilizing to suit the varying

requirements of the garrison the ground set apart for Military

rifle practice - situated between the Police and Naval Ranges -

subject of course to non interference with those kanges.
